"What if the metal horse is actually a real horse? With a backstory like " Joker came up with a demented plan to burn down the historical part of the city by lighting horses with napalm soaked fur. Fire loved wood as much as Joker loved Harley. He even beat them severely to put them in a crazed frenzy. Predictably, Batman foiled his plans by showing up at the last moment. He freed the horses before the Joker could ignite the napalm with a torch. Cheated of his victory, Joker threw the torch at Batman. Not predictably, was that napalm had stuck to his armor as the frightened animals fled past him. Joker was content to settle for a sizzled bat in an oven made from his own armor. In a moment of clarity, a single horse turned around to see his savior as Joker's torch hit the dark knight turning him bright. Wanting to save Batman, the horse who was dark as the night galloped straight into the fire ignoring its own safety and napalm sticking to its fur. Batman climbed on. The flames climbed on too. Both man and beast were black and orange as the horse ran into the river that meandered through the city. The water put out the fire and Batman survived. But the hoofed hero was near death. Batman brought the horse to his nearest safe house by commandeering a truck and mighty feat of strength. Batman did what he could to save the animal beaten all over and covered in severe burns. Batman knew loyalty was in short supply in the city and the horse had shown more humanity than some of the people Bruce knew. Batman turned to the science that had made cyborg for answers. The horse which once had warm black fur was covered in cold black steel. Batman adopted him as his steed to deliver justice when criminals tried to outrun the law. The name of this new creature? Steel Fury! "
